Andreas Giglmayr, born 07.02.1984, called Andi, Gigi.
r: Hi Andi.
a: Hi r.
r: Couple of questions for you, are you ready?
a: Charged with coffee, ready to roll!
r: Your first bike was?
a: A second hand steel frame mountain bike, which my dad got custom painted for me. I would say it was my first love and I still love nice bikes, but now they are all carbon, have six kilos and listen to the name Focus
.
r: Your first triathlon was?
a: My first Triathlon was the Kids Cup at Bürmoos lake, about five k away from my parents place, guess what…
r: tell me
a: I won it
!
r: If you could change one thing at your body what would it be?
a: I think I don`t wanna change anything, since that’s the way I am! Ì`m healthy, not stupid and at the moment I can do what I love (Triathlon) the whole day and I`m very thankful for that.
r: oh come on Andi… there must be something so tell me at least your biggest secret
a: If I would tell you that, would it be a secret anymore?
r: well, okay we pay you a trip, what would you do?
a: If it is a training trip, I think would go to New Zealand! I love the country and the people living there. For holiday I would take an around the world ticket and would visit all the places with my girlfriend, where I traveled to for Triathlon races already, but didn`t have the time to be tourist.
r: Swimsuits are?
a: Sexy on most Triathletes.
r: Favourite drink?
a: Either nice clean Austrian mountain water, or a good cold beer after a long day (r’s comment: note to the webdesigner please add a script to replace “beer” with “coke” if Darren is surfing this blog.)
r: what turns you on?
a: People with a great personality, who have something to say and pursuit their goals!
r: wow amazing this turns you on… I expected more skin and less moral but alright what turns you off then?
a: Negative and intolerant people, who think they are better than everyone else.
r: Men are…?
a: minority in my training squad!
r: Girls are…?
a: Sometimes a bit bitchy, but we love them!
r: Alone out there, cold, rainy day, 20 cent for a phone call, whom do you call?
a: Probably no one, just hit the pedals and ride as hard as possible to make it fast under the hot shower.
r: What makes you smile?
a: When I come back home after a long time away and see the mountains around my hometown in Salzburg. Or a big breakfast with nice strong coffee on the side!
r: What do you want this season?
a: I want to have a consistent and injury free year, where I can show at the big European WCS races, how much I have improved after a good period of training.
r: last but not least: the author of this interview is….
a: One of my best friends since years and will always be! (r’s comment: yeah whatever he just wants me to publish this interview clean and nice cutting all the sensitive material
)
r: Thanks Andi, heads up and let’s have a cold beer and a good breakfast after the season.
